Our Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care team are here for patients, as well as their loved ones.
Spiritual care is an integral part of the holistic care that we provide and is offered to patients, families and carers regardless of faith, religion or beliefs. It is an essential part of our well-being.
Our chaplaincy and pastoral care team works closely with faith groups in the community and welcomes representatives of patients' own faiths.
Our team offer a listening ear and a friendly face.
Our Pastoral care team can help you to:
We can assist with various faith services, either by the patient's bed or in the Sanctuary.
Our team can also assist in organising special occasions such as marriage, blessing, thanksgivings, renewal of vows, baptisms, dedications and confirmations as the need arises.
The team are happy to discuss end of life care with you, and assist you and your family to plan your funeral in the way you wish. We can also liaise with local priests, faith leaders, pastors or humanists.
Our team are trained, sensitive listeners who can give you the time and space to explore any difficult questions you may have, in a safe and comfortable environment. Some people find it helpful to explore their anxieties or fears about what happens when they die, or after death, and ease these worries through sharing them.
Our Sanctuary is a space that is available to all our patients and their loved ones as a quiet place of reflection.
It is open 24 hours a day to be used as a place for peace, a place to reflect, to light a candle, to request prayer in our prayer book, or to simply just sit.
If you need support in accessing The Sanctuary due to mobility, please speak to one of our care team.
